There is no right or wrong way to make a Rum Punch. It can be mild or live up to the name and really punch you so hard straight into the next day.
Choice of fruit, flavours and combination of liquor used are optional.
The word punch came about from the word Sanscrit which means five. Five ingredients which were the original ingredients to making a rum punch; sugar, alcohol, lemon juice, water and spices. It then made its way to the Caribbean and has been a native island tropical welcome drink since.

Rum punch can be sour or sweet, made with dark or light rum and lots of fruit juices such as orange, pineapple and lemon juice with grenadine to give it colour. Juice and alcohol amounts can vary as mentioned above and coconut rum when added can give this punch that extra tropical flavour.
This is a perfect go to mixture for events such as house parties and the recipe is quite adaptable and easy to make.
